Iolo Williams officially opens Tonmawr Primary School Sensory GardenNature-loving children at a village school have put the finishing touches to their sensory garden.Youngsters from Tonmawr primary helped design the special new garden and will now be able to take some of their classes outdoors.

Communities First in Pelenna helped to get the initiative underway, with environment charity Groundwork.

Communities First co-ordinator Martin Ellis said: "They had a ball the day it was opened, and Iolo Williams, who came along, was fantastic with them."

Police forge links with Pelenna Youth Club


Police are working to forge closer links with youngsters in the Pontrhydyfen and Tonmawr areas of Port Talbot.

Cymmer Neighbourhood Policing Team PCSOs Emma Greene and Jaime Perkins visited the young people at a weekly youth club held at Tonmawr Community Centre for 11 to 25 year olds.


It signals the start of a number of further activities for youngsters which will be organised by the police and Pelenna Communities First.

Tonmawr Primary School Crunchy Crew Food Co-op
Schools in PelennaTonmawr Primary School has recently launched a food cooperative project which is being run by older pupils and parents on Wednesday afternoon.
The project will help the pupils contribute to better health in their school and community.
